Who We Are

A Century of Teaching Performing Arts

Our family has taught dance for over 100 years from the Waltz and the Two Step as early as 1915. We taught performers and leisure dance steadily for many years to include Swing, Lindy, Foxtrot in the 1950s. The 80s saw add break dancing and clogging, then river dance in the 90s and the many flavors of Latin dance thereafter with strength training & mindfulness studies to complement our rigorous performers.

Business Development Manager

The 2000s brought mainstream dance back into the spotlight all over America. Some of our family members went off to work the performing arts of the Tennessee area, some off to Disney in Florida, and more off to Hollywood where we were found coaching the dancers on popular TV shows, music videos, and performing in fashion commercials. We also started traveling to international ballroom competitions as performers, judges, and coaches.

During the same time, we focused heavily on the health and well-being of our performers and dance troupe. We incorporated pilates, yoga, massage, strength training, aerial silks, and other performance enhancements into our regimens. We worked out of Southern California and the Mid-Ohio Valley, then took our program online as digital channels grew.

By 2010 we had become known internationally in salsa, tango, and burlesque. Our versions of yoga and fitness had sensational success worldwide with millions of online students joining in our movement philosophy. We traveled to Buenos Aires, Paris, Tokyo, and many other destinations to teach our fun & easy dance and yoga.

Moving Forward

In 2013, we setup a Sacred Academy retreat location in Costa Rica for an immersive learning experience where students can live and learn full-time. We focused heavily on well-being, healing, great nutrition, and of course all of our amazing performing arts. We hosted thousands of students from around the world at this beautiful rainforest location over the next few years and saw our students start to emerge as world champions and globally known yoga coaches and performing artists as we connected them with circus shows, festivals, music videos, and even opening their own studios and companies.

In 2015, we brought all of this expertise and lifestyle program back to the Mid-Ohio Valley, where we had started 100 years before. We brought elements of our Costa Rica retreat center, elements of our Hollywood choreography, and elements of our family values and family teaching style into our new approach known as the Tao Learning Institute, now a 501c3 Non-Profit alternative learning company.

We opened Tao Cottage for our new academy and built onto it a small dance & yoga studio known as Tao Studio. We designed Tao Studio with a cushioned bamboo floor, wall to wall windows overlooking the forest, and created a family-style atmosphere for learning and performance training. This is our first of many Tao Studio locations to come, where those seeking careers in the performing arts come to learn our expertise and earn degrees in Mindfulness, Fine Arts, and the Business Operations needed in the performing arts industry.

We welcome you to join us to create a new lifestyle centered around dance, yoga, movement, and great health. We have semester-based programs available open to the public and we offer full degree programs for those interested in making this their full career choice.
